can any1 tell me why this happens? an example is the band 'AC\DC' (when i view it in file info it is as shown here)
yet the playlist shows it as 'AC, DC' and when i use commands using %artist% again it is 'AC, DC'

ID3v2.3 does not support slash characters in artist names. According to the specification, your tag indicates two artists, named "AC" and "DC".

While I agree that this is braindead, this behavior complies with the specification. If you don't like it, use ID3v2.4 instead.
