Hi all,

I just installed and configured EAC. All is well except for a problem I am having with AccurateRip. No matter what CD I use, I get a message saying "Key Disk cannot be used...does not match the one stored in AR database..." I have tried 3 different CDs that are on the database list. All CDs are pristine quality, factory pressing and popular (Sgt. Peppers, America's Greatest Hits, and Sarah McLachlan Fumbling Towards Ecstasy.) Any ideas?

Thanks.

Bob

Keep trying more discs. The ones you have are probably particular pressings which are not in the database.

Also for all people that want's to setup EAC together with AccurateRip, then you shouldn't use the very out-dated database list, as that list hasen't been updated for ages, but should instead just go through your whole collection, one by one, untill you get lucky...

I have the same problem, I have tried with 15 different albums now...the problem started after I changed from my old Sony burner to a Plextor 755A

EDIT: No problems any more, uninstalled dbPoweramp and deleted the Accuraterip register with regedit.

I saw it in a forum somewhere, but you can use dbPoweramp to configure accuraterip. I would use that. And man, I went through like 30 discs before I found one [3 Doors Down - The Better Life]. So either keep checking around on forums or use dbpoweramp/accuraterip to configure it and than use that .dll in EAC

I was having trouble getting AccurateRip to work with EAC, also... this is what I had to do to get it working:

1 - Install AccurateRip in dBpowerAMP
2 - Open "dMC Audio CD Input" (in the "dBpowerAMP Music Converter" program group)
3 - Click the "Options" button
4 - Under the "AccurateRip" heading, check the "AR Enabled" option
5 - Then copy the "AccurateRip.dll" from the "dBpowerAMP" folder to the "EAC" folder

From there, EAC worked perfectly with AccurateRip ...for me.

Well, this did the trick. Thank you. I am surprised this important info has not made its way into any of the several EAC setup guides floating around.

Oh wow... I gotta try the dBpowerAMP option!

I too have had issues configuring AccurateRip. I would sure like to get some feedback from some of you... I wonder what it meant when I tried to configure EAC originally? I actually found 2 cd's that were in the database. I ran AccurateRip as instructed but my results were different for the 2 discs. Does this mean that my offset is not consistent, so I should NOT bother?

Just to be clear, I ran the test repeatedly on these 2 cd's. I got the same offset each time. However, each cd produced a different offset figure.

Hmmmm... huh.gif I got it with every disc I've tried. Even though the discs I've used were a couple of years old. Nevertheless, the have worked.

I think it depends on whether your drive is in DriveOffsets.bin and whether AccurateRip.dll can find it.

Howdy guys. I need some help with AccurateRip in EAC. I already found a "key disc" to configure my drive in EAC. I haven't found anything that strikes me as a "Compare with AccurateRip" and was under the impression that some kind of pop-up would activate after a rip to give me the statistics of rips like mine. So far I have tried it on five discs:
  • Spider-Man: Music from and Inspired By
  • Discs 1 & 2 of the Phantom of the Opera Soundtrack [Andrew Llyod Webber, 2 Disc Special Edition, 2004]
  • ATB - Seven Years
  • DJ Sammy - Heaven
Granted this is only today that I installed AccurateRip, but what am I to expect when it can validate my rip with others?
SamHain86
All right, I have tested about 15 CDs [all I have with me, the rest are back with my family]. I still haven't seen anything that would indicate that AccurateRip is producing some sort of confidence report, and I have sent the AccurateRip results.

I have found key discs and there are a good deal of BINs in the cache. I haven't seen anything that remotely resembles a confidence report on any of my rips, with plenty of rips having no errors.

What am I to expect with AccurateRip when it has a report?

Once it is working, and all applicable EAC settings are correct, an Accuraterip confidence report window will always pop up after the ripping of any tracks.

EAC settings to check -
  • "Remove leading and trailing silence" must be disabled.
  • "Show status dialog after extraction" must be enabled.
  • "Overread into lead-in/out" AND/OR "Fill missing samples with silence" must be enabled.
  • "Append gaps to previous track" must be enabled.

What about ripping an image? I always rip to a WAV image with CUE. Looking through the AccurateRip forums, I found that it should not make a difference based on whatever technology AccurateRip employs.

I have not seen any pop up box besides the "This is a key disc" jargon.
Cosmo
Well there you go... it doesn't work when ripping images.
SamHain86
$#!% @!&& ^*~@ )$^%$#@@!!

I am home now and just tried individual rips and yes it works. On the forums it stated that the AccurateRip program worked independently of your choice of ripping.

...when we implement image ripping, it will rip single tracks, compare with accuraterip and combine to one large image after ripping, hence no need for 2 databases.

The use of the word "when" implies it isn't something that's available yet.

...and that's probably only going to be for dBpowerAMP, not for EAC.
