It's a colloquial term in the US, meaning the same as "extremist". In that context it has nothing to do with actual Nazi ideology.

I think perhaps the origin being that Seinfeld episode with the "Soup Nazi" who makes everyone line up single file, and yells at them when they order wrong. "NO SOUP FOR YOU!"
So yeah... a spelling nazi would be someone who freaks out at people when they misspell things. A coaster Nazi freaks out when you don't put your drink on a coaster, etc.
