I hope someone can help me. I have a hp pavilion a640n 2.2mhz, 1 gig ram using WinXP SP2. I have Reltek AC97 audio. Sound has been running fine until the other day. Now I get slow audio playback on everything but sound recorder.
I installed the latest codecs - no change
I reinstalled all original drivers - no change
I did system restore from a point I was certain the problem didn't exist - no change.
System checks all come out fine - no device conflicts - no hardware changes.

What do you mean by slow?
- The audio files sound the same, but take much longer to start playing?
- The audio is literally slowed down with/without pitch change?
- The audio is choppy/skippy?

Are you using iTunes 7?
There are some compatibility issues between iTunes and certain PC hardware.
