Apologies for this post but I really could use some guidance.
I've spent about 8-12 hours trying to understand how to customize the user interface. I've look at twiki and went thru various forum searches. Is there anywhere I can find the basic steps on what I need to do to start customizing the look of my Foobar ? Most of the post seem to start after the first initial steps.
I'm located in New York City, if there's anyone local perhaps someone would be willing to give some quick advice over the phone. I can also be reached here or by email.
Thanks in advance.
get columns_UI, trackinfo_mod, album art panel, quicksearch and single columns playlist
they are all downloadable DLLs linked to in their respective threads on this forum
take them into C:\Program Files\foobar2000\components
if you already have that done, you can customize your columns UI layout by going to file->preferences->display->Columns UI->layout and start making panels and stuff. when you have more specific questions, i can help you some more.

You can find links to most of the components here:
http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?ti...nent_RepositoryYou have to be carefull though, that you extract any files that come in compressed archive formats. Alot of files are compressed with 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) or zip, and you will have to exctract the .dll files inside. The components folder should then be filled with .dll files and if you check the preferences, you can see a list of loaded components and give you hints if you made a mistake somewhere along if a desired component doesn't show up.

Try out some of the scripting tutorials linked in the Wiki.
http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?ti...2000:Foobar2000The one by Brother John is good for a step-by-step guide.
