I have more or less made a total conversion from iTunes to fb2k, but I have a few unanswered questions that are preventing me from uninstalling iTunes entirely.

1. How is the fb2k media database handled? I can't seem to figure out how to see a complete list of what is in my library, especially from Columns UI. I have a playlist called "Library" but I had to use autoplaylist to generate it, by including any files with ".mp3" in the file name.

2. Again relating to my first question, how do I know whether I am looking at my media library or a playlist? I want a playlist always present like in iTunes that has my entire library. I do not want to have to use autoplaylist to do that.

3. When I have added media to my library, is there any way to get it to automatically be listed on a playlist, such as one named "Recently Added"? If files in foobar had a "date added" meta tag in the library then this might be easier, but as it is I can't figure out a solution.

4. Is there a plugin that allows drag&drop from Columns UI to playlists (non-tabbed)?

Thanks to anyone that tries to answer. These questions have been bugging me and I've wasted hours solving these and other annoyances.

Do you have your media library set up properly with your music folders? It's under preferences. Also do you have Album List Panel? Throw that in your columns UI set up....

Check out the "configuration distribution thread" and the "Wanted v0.9 plugin ports" thread (pinned in the 3rd party components sub-forum) for some help taming the wild and fickle beast that is fb2k.

Sorry I can't answer all your questions more completely, but maybe this will help point you in the right direction. OH and,

I know this is possible, I think I've seen someone describe way to do it. I myself am not saavy enough to figure it out right now, but keep searching; this forum holds the answers to all of life's questions...
