Anyone want to write a new Plugin? ;-)

I use IEMs (In Ear Monitors). They offer great external sound isolation, but are a pain to insert in your ear - it takes a while to do it properly. So this is bad news when you need to hear someone talking to you, for example.

What's needed is a 'push to hear' feature in Foobar. A button (in th esystem tray?) I can press that simulatiously mutes Foobar and enables sound from my PC's microphone to be routed through to my headphones.

Maybe this doesn't need to be an addon (and it could be a stand alone app)?
