Gang -
I been ripping for longest time w/o any accurate rip setup - just using the basis of Zero for the offset page.
I since discovered accurate rip. Now some CRC mismatches occur on rips that I did not have setup via accurate rip.
My question - is the resulting WAV defective? Is there a noticeable hit in quality?
I am new at this part and now will setup my drives & EAC correctly.
Thanks!
Read offset correction allows you to rip the same bit-exact data from any audio CD. If you don't mind that your audio data is 1 to ~2000 samples (~50(?)ms actual audio data) too early or too beyond compared to the "real" track index, then your wavs are not defective.
Thanks for the assurance..
A simplistic view of what Borisz has already stated is: Offsets are nothing more than time shifting.
