Feeling a bit snowed under here (eg I added a some dll's but can't seem to get them to appear at all)

Can some kind soul please point me to a resource (well, idiot's guide really ;-)) on how all the Column UI components fit together and what needs configuring where to make it work. Every resourse I've tried so far seems to make assumptions about stuff I don't yet know. I guess I just don't "get it" yet...

Just some links would be great (possibly to a thread here I missed

TIA

- Go to the main http://www.foobar2000.org website:
- Click on "User Guides (Wiki)" on the right side of the screen.
- Scroll down to the section labeled "External Guides"
- Click on "Bachi-Bouzouk's English/French guide"
- In the menu on the left, click on "UIcolumns"
- Scroll down to the "Configure" section
- Scroll down to the "Layout" subsection

These options are available from File> Prefernces> Display> Columns UI> "Layout" Tab

Ok, thanks :-)

1. When I see what other people have done, they post code. So am I just looking to copy/import that code into my foobar install somewhere (as an .fcs file import?) and make sure the right DLLs are in the components folder. And that's it (*all* I have to do) to end up with the same look and feel?

2. Also, is there a setting to stop the main window being resized once I get everything looking the way I want?

.fcs files are only for basic columnsui settings like playlist style. if you want a complete layout including singlecolumnsplaylist then an .fcs file isnt going to do much for you.

Basically you need to install all component dll's in the components dir (check each component thread for dependencies like C Runtimes), all images in the images dir, and the foobar.cfg file into your foobar main dir (if you installed with user-specific settings then this will be off your documents and settings).

Be warned that replacing your foobar.cfg file will replace all your foobar settings.

You can't prevent the foobar main window from resizing, but under the ColumnsUI Display settings Layout tab each panel has the option to be "[x] Locked". This will prevent the individual panel from being resized when foobar resizes.
