Hey, new to foobar here. I'm using columns UI setup with artist and album browser panels. When i select an artist and album to play, it plays continuously until I start browsing my library (ie. click on a different artist). I'd like it to continue playing the album/songs sequentially from where I originally started playing them and not start playing the currently selected artist/album on track change.
Hope this makes sense. Thanks.

What you've described does not sound like normal behavior of the media library with columns UI. Are you actually right clicking on the media and using the "Send to current playlist" ? Because you should just use the "Add to the current playlist".

I just double click on the media to play it, I've only got the *Browser* window as a playlist. For example, if I click on RHCP in my artist browser and double click the first song, I want it to continue playing through all of the RHCP songs even if I click on a different artist (ie. retagging stuff or organizing my library), instead once the RHCP track is done, it will begin playing the first track of whatever artist i've selected in the artist browser panel.

this would be a very handy feature indeed! I've been wondering the same thing. I very frequently listen to music as I file new stuff I've ripped.

i *think* what you need to do is disable the option "change selection with cursor when..." in preferences > general
then disable "playback follows cursor" and "cursor follows playback" in the playback dropdown

Sounds as though you have an additional playback setting enabled, which is probably a shuffle mode. You can turn it off by going to
Playback, Order, Default.

Oops I was just being stupid. It does work. I'm using album list panel so I was being dumb and trying to play one thing in the Library playlist but then browse away.
When I browse, the "Library" playlist changes... but when I put my tracks into a "Now Playing" playlist, I can browse away within "Library" playlist without affecting playback.
Thanks everyone!
