Full Version: command to fix browser?

I recently put in a dial-up modem as a backup- since using Adelphia's cable modem (the worst but no choice). Still using IE6.x (yeah, I should know better by now). Anyway- signed up for 'free' dialup service- 10 hours a month- and it 'branded' the browser with its name. I know there's a short command line to delete/revert browser back to original- can't find where I put the reference. I'd appreciate any help you could offer for this- sorry to bother you all with such a simple problem. Oh yeah- windows 2000- if that helps. Thanks- cadabra3

It's in the registry. To remove it, delete the entry "Window Title" from this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

If you're not comfortable editing the system registry there is a freeware, no spyware, no ad banner program by PC Magazine called RegistryRobot.

Thanks to both of you for the help. I don't mind 'messing' with the registry; but often an alternative is less 'stressful' rolleyes.gif Thanks again- Have a good new year- cadabra3
