dBpoweramp r12 has a checkbox for varying the drive speed during Ultra Secure rips.
I know ripping at different, lower speeds might help recover errors, but do folks here think that varying the drive speed is likely to uncover errors that might have been overlooked in a faster pass? In other words, the fast pass thought something was OK, but slowing the drive down helps it spot an errror. Or, instead, does slowing the drive down only give the drive more time to work on trouble spots.
I'd much rather rerip the occcasional trouble spot at a slower speed than do every single disc's second pass at a lower speed.
Thanks for any insight you all might offer.
