Why is FLAC 1.1.4 available on sourceforge, but it's not actually even mentioned on the main FLAC page? Are we waiting for some testing to happen? Is it still in beta?

the sourceforge shell server has been down for over a week so I can't update the web site.

So does that mean the 1.1.4 release on sourceforge is not the correct one to download?
Or is that your final version, out there right now? Thanks much!

Sourceforge having something down? For a long period of time, you say? Absolutely shocking! biggrin.gif

Will there be a darwin (Mac OS X) Intel or Universal Binary version of FLAC 1.1.4 on your download page? All I see is a PPC (Power PC) Mac version for OS X. An Intel or Universal Binary version would make FLAc encoding/decoding much faster on Intel based Macs, as they won't have to be interpreted through the Rosetta PPC emulator.

it's correct. file releases go through different machines.

yeah, I'm starting to get a little fed up with sourceforge. I know they're a free service so I cut them a lot of slack but I'm running out of slack.

I only have a PPC machine to build on, but I'm working with someone else on a universal binary package.

Thanks! That is good news for us Intel Mac users!

For the very brave, I just made a Universal Binary Installer for FLAC available. It is almost completely untested. Do not save this URL, because it will change once testing is complete and the release made officially known on the main FLAC site.
