Full Version: Feature Request: Converter Setup > "When Done" > "

It occurred to me today that many times, once I finish converting a set of files, I immediately turn around and run an external program on the converted set. And while foo_run is able to execute external commands on a set of files, they must be loaded into foobar2000 to be accessible in this manner.

We already have a "ReplayGain-scan output files as albums" option; would it make sense to change this to a configurable "Run X on Completion" dropdown dialog in the "When Done" section of the Converter Setup?

Here is an example of how and why such a thing might be useful: Suppose you use the "Convert to Album Images with Cuesheets or Chapters" option to create a WAV/CUE pair, and set your album images output to %album%. Then, in your "Run X on Completion" settings you entered something like cdrdao write --device 5,0,0 --speed 16 --overburn --eject %album%.wav.cue... see the possibilities? smile.gif

Now, I'm not certain the example above could be literally formatted as shown (after all, it involves running a post process on the CUE rather than the WAV itself, even though the WAV is necessary), but you probably see where I'm going with this. Perhaps in the "Album Images" scenario the "Run X" option could be selectable for image vs. CUE? Something like this would also be useful for creating an MD5 checksum file for the resultant audio, or (heaven forbid!) using an external tagging program to embed cover art.

Open for discussion or friendly criticism....

Right now I was going to make a request for a burning plugin using cdrdao (or cdrecord) instead of freaking nero, but this would be even better. And if it was possible to add more than one command....

what would be even better is to have profiles like we have with the rename/move window. a profile could save settings like the encoding preset, RG, and DSP settings; store a tag-based output directory; and perhaps have a 'when done, do ____' option. the profiles could even be available for keyboard shortcuts.

I had requested a Task queuing/"job control" thingie like in virtualdub here, but it seemed like no one else was interested.
