I have a rather large collection of music ripped to mpc format.

I recently ran MPCSCAN and found a lot of corrupted files.

Does anyone know of some kind of prog to fix or edit mpc files ???

thanks
GeSomeone
Yes, there was a mpcfix (by Case), which you might be able to find. It simply truncates the file at the first error and fixes the length... this might not be what you want though.

thanks GeSomeone,

but this is not what i'm looking for. I would like to fix the file in a way that the song will continue to play and skip the part that's corrupted.

Are those files not playable now?

Hello,

Can I ask what proportion of files were corrupted and what is the supposed source of the corruption ?
Also, can you put one of those files somewhere so I can see if something can be done ?

That was my idea, maybe the current MPC developers can include such tool as mp3packer with possibilities for fixing of corrupted files in the wishlist for sv8?

Hi Nicolas,

sorry for the late reply, but my job took all of my time lately sad.gif .
I don't the know the source of corruption, it's possible that something went wrong during the encoding process. Since i play all of my files in foobar2000 and it just skips to the next song when encountering an error i just recently found out about the corruption. If you want to i can mail you an example of a corrupted file

greetings

Lieven
