Full Version: Help please with flac and Vista

I've just installed Vista and everything went very well except for one small glitch. All my files are flac. I installed the Illiminable Direct Show Filter and the WMP Tag Support Extender 1.2. WMP now has all my flac files in my library and they play, but they aren't tagged. There is just one long list of songs.

When I look at plugins under Library Properties, the Tag Support Extender is there, but flac is missing from the list of supported tags. I don't seem to be able to add it manually.

Strangely, everything is fine when I run WMP 11 under XP. Flac is in the list of supported tags it all works.

Also, I just noticed that flac files are not showing up in J River Media Center under Vista, whereas they do when J River runs under XP. Is there an Vista setting blocking flac files?

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance,

Rich

You could try the newest 1.4 release of WMPSTE. smile.gif

I can't play any flac files in vista, even with the latest codec. WMP just goes file not supported. Foobar gives the error "bad allocation".

Any ideas?
