I don't know if its a problem of the encoders versions that I used but I had encoded cda tracks and audio files with the lame power pack that blundes with nero burning rom 6 and the lastest version of cdex, and everytime the resulting mp3s had too many residual noise and acoustical artifacts annoying or unsupportable for my hearing, I ever encoded mp3s at a setup of 44Khz 128Kbps HighQuality CBR Stereo or Joint-Stereo, and Joint Stereo makes the quality somewhat worse I think, Instead the nero mp3pro.dll plugin ever gave me better results when encoding at this configuration, when doing it from cda tracks with the nero mp3 plugin, the mp3 output is slighty different from the original source and artifacts aren't noticeable at all, I haven't encoded with vbr or abr yet and the vbr mode of mp3pro.dll seems worst than encoding with cbr bitrates
