Just heard that James Chapman, the author of the free VUPlayer audio player, has released version 2.47 today. It adds libFLAC version 1.1.4 support for faster decoding/encoding of FLAC files, plus other new features and bugfixes. The changelog follows below.

added a MOD interpolation option
switched to using BASSWMA for WMA decoding
updated to version 1.1.4 of libFLAC

Nice! This seems like a really good program. Most likely though it will be just ANOTHER to fall to Foobar's wayside.

It looks like this version of VU player does NOT query Gracenote - only FreeDB. Too bad.
