HI ALL
1. ANY ONE CAN TELL ME THAT LAME IS THREAD SAFE OR NOT?????????????????
2. I AM USING LAME 3.97 IN RED HAT.
SO I AM ENCODING RAW SAMPLES AND CREATE MP3 FILES
I AM USING sample Rate=16khz bit Rate =32kbps
(also the RAW samples are acquired from DAQ card at a SampleRate=32000)
but the quality I recieved is not too good and also the volume is too low than orignal voice.
SO WHAT CAN BE DONE TO IMPROVE THE THINGS.
I WILL WAITING FOR UR RESPONSE. THANKS

Thread title amended and topic moved.
I'm tempted to remove the shouting as well, but frankly can't be bothered.
Please re-read the TOS.
NO WE CANNOT TELL YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE STILL NOT LOUD ENOUGH AND DID NOT POST THE QUESTION IN ENOUGH THREADS WITH A DEMANDING ENOUGH TONE YET!!!
I think this thread is kinda bump:
Lame 3.97 is thread safe or not?

How is that related to multithreading?
Also I have a dumb question, did you try to encode without threads? Did it work better?
Although quite obvious 32kps is quite low and not really suited to lame encoding try raising the bitrate or use another codec. There are some topics in the Mp3 tech forum about speech encoding at low bitrates for audio books that experiment with a few settings to improve quality. Try search for those.

I can't imagine the quality will be good if you're encoding a 32kHz sampled piece for 16 kHz.
