Hello, I'm newbie Foobar user and I want first time in my life to convert normal audio CD tracks into mp3 files. As I love Foobar2000 very much, I'd like to do that with foobar. I first click open CD and then "Rip". Then I write names for tracks and choose MP3 format. Then it asks to locate folder with the file lame.exe -after that I don't know what to do.. Can someone give me a link for a newbie guide or a hint how can I do that?
Thanks,
O-pos

get LAME 3.97 (not the 3.98 one) at this link
http://free-codecs.com/Lame_Encoder_download.htmunzip lame 3.97.zip to your foobar directory eg. (C:\Program Files\foobar2000)
choose MP3 (lame) from dropdown box then hit the small box at the right side.
choose quality you want from slider bar
you done!
Wow!!!! it did it and namely it took only 3,24 minutes to convert all 12 tracks to mp3!!! that's so great!! Foobar is really like a supermachine, I love this player.. Thank you
Conversion time has nothing to do with foobar2000. It only provides audio stream. Conversion itself is done by third-party encoder.
OK, but at least it was displayed very professionally

Foobar is very cool, no doubt

How did you expect to encode with LAME if you didn't have the LAME encoder? Just curious...
