The player freezes/lags for a bit when I select a song where it's located in a folder with many other songs in it. Of say about 150+ songs in a single folder. Example is my Limewire folder where there is a lot of downloaded songs in a single folder. The player freezes for a bit when I select a song from that folder.

I think the problem is it's trying to read the songs' data?

Is this a known problem? Can the lag/freezing be reduced?

What components do you have installed? Do you have foo_uie_albumart installed? If so, make sure you are using the latest version.

150 is not a lot of songs. I regularly use playlists with 35K+ tracks and see no lags. Foobar has been highly optimized to deal with large collections. As gfngfgf suggest, a plugin is probably the cause of your problems.
