does somebody how the feature verify sound level work??

i found it in the option , i can turn on/off

does it work with replaygain?

IIRC, it does not work with replaygain but with apple's own volume analysis routines and there was someone here making a tool to convert from apple sound level to replaygain level, but that's a few months back.

Nope, but the C code to calculate it is the following:

Converting ReplayGain to SoundCheck: soundcheck = 1000 * pow(10.0, (-0.1 * gain))

Edit: after reading more from the thread, I found the program name, its ipodrg.exe and its available on http://uclc.info/ipod/ but the site being very slow, I setup a mirror on my server here,
