Here's the latest version of the guide, which I started writing in this post.
Please let me know if you find any errors, or you want to give some comments, need clarification etc.

v.6. removed after 152 downloads.

There's a typo on page 42 in CD_Ripping_guide_for_an_average_user_v7.pdf:

Should be either:
CODE

-V 0 --vbr-new
   or
--preset fast extreme
   or
--alt-preset fast extreme

Also I don't necessarily think Times New Roman is the best font for reading.

I do wish your guide would have been in existence eight or so years ago when I started! It would have made ripping and encoding decisions so much easier. wink.gif Good guide by the way! wink.gif

It should be --alt-preset fast extreme (just one notch below the best wink.gif ).
It will be corrected in v.8.
