Halo,

I tried making some searches to the forum befroe opening this thread, but are there any known issues with ipod and low AAC profiles?

In my pc using Foobar2000, I can barely ABX a track coded at q=0.30. Even 0.25 sounds very good for me.

Unfortunately when I tried to hear from my nano in the above bitrate range, the sound was awful. Actually I tested the same track at 0.25,.30,.35 and it was clear for me that the enodings used nero's AAC SBR profile(.25, .30) listened awful. Only .35 encoding sounded as expected, clear.

Anyone can give me info about this. Is there a problem with all HE profiles? It's pretty clear to me that there is no placebo case.

I used latest Nero AAC 1.0.7.0

iPods don't support SBR, so it is completely ignoring that part of the files. Use LC for your iPod.

Ok, just saw a post mentioning that iPods dont support he-aac...

Now I m thinking, you would recommend to force the use of LC at lower bitrates q<.3 or just raise a little my bitrate @ .32 ?

I think the kosher choice would be the 2nd right?

Anyway, that's what I would do, thanks for the support, and the great codec! smile.gif
