Full Version: Unwanted posting here - loss of posting permission there

I learnt today that after unwanted articles here at HA by me (without getting a formal warning, i.e. the technical warning level) my posting permission was silently deleted at a related forum, run by a HA moderator. I think this is not alright as well as deleting postings without any notification.

It's not good for the community. Do you see enemies everywhere around you? If so, take a break! It's gotten really difficult writing here, there are more and more limitations in what is being allowed to write here (especially the fb2k forum) and this is not a good development.

I admit of course not all my postings are worth a million and of course some may have been in whatever way unnecessary. But this is human. All in all I want, as well as you mods, I vital community and good software. And I think we all share about the same ideas of what good software is.

EDIT Please do not lock this thread for formal reasons. It's HA related, because this is about attitude and where the community goes.

As far as i can see, your posting permissions are in no way restricted on HA (other than abiding by our posting rules / TOS, but every member has to do that), and this is all that counts. As far as other forums go, i can't (and don't want) to tell others how to run them. They can exclude anyone from their forum at any time and they don't have to give any reason. If you think it's unfair, that's for you and the admins of that forum to discuss, sorry.

The forum admin of the other forum explained to me, that the action was totally independent from his HA mods job. As he's a person of integrity, I think I can believe him, let's keep it that way.

I'm a little confused. Does this mean that:

I must say I'm not quite sure why this got posted to Hydrogen Audio, and not the forum in which your posting privileges were revoked.

That said, you speak of censorship in this forum, which does concern me. I personally have not noticed this happening, but I'm not as active as I was. I think your concerns should be raised as a PM to an admin though, and not a public thread.

Confused.

No it was not wrong and with "deleting postings without any notification" I was thinking about http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=51774 Just to show the facts, I know the deletion is an old story and Frank apologized there.

censorship is a reality. yeah i'm up for free speech, but i also don't need to read spam and porn while using HA. slippery slope? maybe...

if you are posting crap --> recycle bin

just stop posting against forum rules and you should be fine

bringing it to our attention that you are banned from another forum doesn't exactly make your argument stronger...
