Is there any way to automatically rename a playlist based on what's in it? I'd like to be able to have the playlist name as the artist, or maybe the album of the stuff inside it. (If that makes any sense)

Is this possible?

Good idea: I'd also like something similar: I create quite a few playlists and often don't bother to type any meaningful names. However, this sounds like a very complicated thing to do, as any plugin would have to guess which common value (ie same artist / same album) you would like to see. Nice idea, though

foo_playlist_manager can create several automatically named playlists from a list of tracks. The tracks have to be dropped on the playlist manager popup window to do that. The plugin currently offers no way to rename existing playlists based on their content. Also, the rules for distributing tracks into playlists and naming those playlists are not configurable.

If you use playlist switcher that comes with column_ui, you can have it automatically set the title based on what's dropped. Although i don't think that's what you're looking for.

That is fairly similar to what we wanted I think, but it only works when creating a new playlist: it isn't "dynamic"! However, that is extremely useful: I've never noticed that option there, and with a little bit of code, it could be quite useful! Thanks!
