Hello,

I've just bought used Toshiba tecra A2, 1,5Ghz / 496 MB RAM, WinXP

The volume of the sound is very low, barely hearable. I tried with headphones and external speakers - the same low volume. So it's not about speakers. In volume settings everything is on maximum. What can be the reason?

The volume through my Acer laptop's internal speakers is also very low. I haven't tried headphones, but if I plug in powered speakers (powered in this case through my laptop's USB port) then the volume is as loud as I want it to be.
