Hello
Just come across this forum and hope someone may be able to help... it may well be a very simple answer!
I've connected my lap top to my amp via the 'phono' input on the amp as there is no 'aux' input, but the sounds is completely distorted. Is that normal? The amp is quite an old one, but still sounds good with cd / radio input etc.
Any ideas what I need to do to recitfy it? Get a new amp is the obvious one, but am I missing something ?
thanks
David
Turn the volume down on your laptop.
The PHONO input on an amp is to be used
only with turntables (which have
RIAA equalization curve applied to the audio - the PHONO input specifically de-equalizes the audio). Use a AUX/TAPE/RADIO/etc input on the amp instead.

thanks guys... i'll try both !
i thought there was something about the phono that meant you couldn't use it... i'll swap and try it with the tape input seeing as that's never used these days
plus i'll turn the lap-top vol down from max!
thanks again
