I'm encoding my mp3-files with LAME 3.93.1, but no matter how I do it, Foobar tells me that they are VBR - when they are not. I've used various front-ends for lame (and of course tried the command line), and I'm 100% sure that they are CBR. Could it be a bug, or is there another explanation? MP3Utility agrees with me and LAME that they are not VBR. Where does FB get the "extrainfo"-header from?
known bug, VBR detection is based on presence of VBR header, which LAME writes into all files no matter what settings are used.
Just what I wanted to hear. I'll just sit still and wait patiently till it's fixed. Keep up the good work
