Hi guys. Want to convert an AVI file encoded in Divx to a standard DVD format. I downloaded to open source MediaCoder. The program is not for beginners. I tried to convert the video file to an mpeg2. Is mpeg2 the standard format for an DVD? What about the sound file. Should I keep it in mp3. If anyone knows that program (MedaCoder) is it the proper tools to accomplish my needs? Thanks

MPEG2 is the correct video format. Audio needs to be converted to MP2 or AC3 I think.

I used ConvertXToDVD for this, but it costs money - nice and easy to use though. Another program that I have played with, which is free, is DIKO.

I haven't used MediaCoder.

DVD Flick is a simple program for burning standard video DVD's from encoded video files: http://www.dvdflick.net/
