Why should one make different channels in flac files? Because you want surround sound? What exactly is a channel, are channels supposed to be devided into frequency categories or doesn't it have anything to do with it?
All help is appreciated.

One channel goes to each speaker. Stereo sound requires two channels. So, to reproduce stereo sound, we need two channels of audio: one for the left speaker and one for the right speaker.
