I have a .wma file, how do I determine whether it's lossless or lossy wma?

Looking at the file size and the bitrate would be a good place to start.

Windows Media Player will display the codec type and version if you call up a song's properties in the playlist.

You could try this programme:
Audiochecker
But I think you have to convert the file to wav first.

Install dBPowerAmp, and use the Explorer-integrated pop-up info. Absolutely indispensable if you're an audio tech fan
