Hello people, Im new on this forum and I started to encode my music using AAC Nero, I just have one question: I made some tests and when I encoded my music using Nero .30 quality (about 80 kbps) I found it very good and for a low space on hard drive (in fact I cant find any diference between AAC .30 q and LAME 128 kbps), Do you recommend me to use this quality for all my music? or shluld I go up and use 128 kbps or highger?

Thanks for your comments.

Regards.

It all depends on your ears, it is your music after all. Personally, I would stick to a VBR bitrate close to 128kbps or higher (maybe q0.45). But that is just me in and my OCD behavior in that I would want my music to match the bitrates of songs I purchased off of the iTunes Store. If you are completely happy q0.35 then use it.

Try ABXing between the files you encoded with Nero AAC with the original music. If you can't tell the difference, then the settings you chose should suit you.

Hello,

As it has already been said and will be said, it depends on :
- your equipment,
- the type of music you encode,
- your listening training / your ears,
- the use of that encoded music,
- age of captain,
- whatever else.

Take some time to ABX encoded files and originals, using lots of different styles of music. And when you find a setting that suits your needs (It may take some time and be boring), Bingo ! You have find a nice and proud signature for your upcoming posts in this forum. wink.gif

Just think,
