Full Version: Links on HA with "&hl=" do not work for me

Hi guys,

I am accessing HA using Firefox on Windows XP from behind a proxy at work. I am encountering the following problem. When I click on a link like:
CODE
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=54121&hl=

The link does not work, but when I remove the "=" at the end it works properly.

This causes problems for me in a couple of ways.

1. Usually when I visit the main page, the first link I click on is the "More..." under the Latest Threads section. It takes me to the first page of search results no problems. But when I scroll to the bottom of the first page of the results, and click on the link for page 2
CODE
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?act=Search&nav=lv&CODE=show&searchid=b7cda17a9bbc441a4a5658213b31497b&search_in=topics&result_type=topics&hl=&st=25

I get a "The page cannot be displayed" error. Taking out the "=" from the string near the end "&hl=" makes the link work.

2. Also, when I click on a link to a thread from the search results in problem 1 above, it doesn't work. Again it appears that the "hl=" string is causing problems for me.

Anyone have any suggestions for fixing this? Is there something I can do on my end within having to cut and paste and edit the links?

Thanks,

Andy

I am in a similar situation (firewalled gateway at work), but my Firefox handles the empty &hl= correctly. What happens if you supply a parameter, for example "&hl=music"?

I get "The page cannot be displayed".

I tried performing a search on "music", I can view the results at the following URL:
CODE
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?act=Search&CODE=show&searchid=9ccf589ccb792c0d2d1f9ac74d491d68&search_in=posts&result_type=topics&highlite=%2Bmusic

but when try and click on the results, for instance
CODE
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=54633&hl=music

I receive the error "The page cannot be displayed."

With Firefox 2.0.0.3, when I click on the second link you posted, I get to a thread that reads "Digitizing mono vinyl: using phase-inversion to reduce noise". Then post 18 has the word "music" highlighted (red text on yellow background).

Intended behaviour, same here.

@goweropolis: Can you find out whether it works on another computer behind that proxy of yours or not?

I tried using Internet Explorer and I have the same problem. Unfortunately, I don't have access to any other computers on the network.

If other links (not HA.org ones) with "hl=" don't work either, it's probably a faulty proxy configuration. That's about all I can say from here.
