Full Version: windows/system32/flac.exe

I have previously used 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 installers. I searched my computer and found flac.exe and metaflac.exe on program files/FLAC and windows/system32. The appear to be the same file, i.e. same date and size, though I do not have binary diff and so do not know for sure.

Since the installer is not available, how do I upgrade to 1.1.4? Should I unzip 1.1.4 files to both directory or just program files/flac? What about the registry? There is a bunch of stuff in there about FLAC, and I have no idea what most of those entries do?

So far, I have only unzip the 1.1.4 files to program files/flac. Everything is mostly working, except that FLAC frontend is complaining "Tag guessing failed."

Who put the files in windows/system32? 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 installers? foobar? some other programs? (Except for using FLAC on the command line, they don't seem to be needed?)

Thanks.
Junon
There's a beta installer available which works well enough to solve the issue..
