Full Version: different compression ratio between FLAC frontend, command line, and f
Hydrogenaudio Forums > Lossless Audio Compression > FLAC
qwer
1) FLAC frontend (level 8): best result
2) command line (--best): exactly 8002 bytes more than flac frontend
3) foobar (level 8): between 86000-87000 bytes more than flac frontend

I have done this with wav files 9MB, 21MB, 50MB, 88MB, 102MB. I have Windows XP and foobar 9.4.2. I tested this for both FLAC 1.1.3 and 1.1.4, same results.

What am I doing wrong? My preference is to use foobar, if I can get equal compression as flac frontend. Thanks.

That's due to an excessive amount of seek points. A simple solution can be found in the linked thread.
