Please tell me the procedures, thanks~~~

Hi terryko,

some players can read CD-Text, others only get their information from internet.
Your example, where WMP displays the CD cover, can only be from internet. Bu I don't know which database MS uses, I am sure it is not freedb

Thanks Sunhillow,
then how can I do this?
I have tried making CD-text in my CD (using Nero or Sony CD Architect),
however, WMP and Real Player cannot display them. It just display Unknown.....sad.gif
I don't know whether this is my WMP/RealPlayer/CD burner problems....

So what can I do?
Should I submit my CD info to freedb?
But it seems I cannot submit CD jacket cover to freedb......

Please help~~~~

If you are a recording artist, your "label" generally will submit the information to the official services like Gracenote (cddb) and AMG (All Music Guide).
Light-Fire
Itunes supports CD text.

I think you have misunderstood this. WMP does not find the image from the Audio CD disc. I don't think it can read the CD text info either. When you insert a CD WMP queries the CD database that Microsoft uses and downloads the track info and cover image if available.

Not all drives and software can write and read the CD text info and it is not possible to add a cover art image to a standard Audio CD. As you may know, the usual way is to print the info and cover art on paper and include it in the jewel box.

Perhaps you could try to create a hybrid CD that has a data session besides the standard audio CD session. You can include compressed audio files with metadata and cover art image in the data session. Standard CD players would then use the standard Audio CD part and computers would be able to access the data session. However, a CD like this may not be compatible with all audio CD players. I would recommend relying on professional help when creating this kind of CD unless you know exactly what you are doing.

In order for Player like WMP and such to recognize your CD you can submit the CD yourself to the different databases.
For Gracenote see: Link
For FreeDB you can use EAC.
MusicBrainz.
Most importantly for commercial players might be AMG, whos' LASSO is used by all the bigwigs. The problem with that is that it has to be a commercial release, and you have to snail-mail in the media: Link (Impossible to deep-link at AMG)

WMP also fetches metadata from Muze as a secondary source (AMG appears to be the primary one). According to their site here, getting your music added to their database is free. Go for it smile.gif
