I am using whatever the search plugin is for foobar.. its pretty nice but..

-any way for me not to have to press enter, as in just have the files show up as i type- more i-tuneish.
-whenever i search something it makes it a new playlist. I don't like that, i would at least like it to, if it has to act as though its a new playlist, for it to go back to the "browser", so that I can continue to browse- as in go away from the search, without having to click on "browser." Because right now i will search for jack johnson, but then if i click billy joel, it wont do anything because its under search so i have to click browser and then find the joel song i wanted.


Also, i am wondering, why do most users like to search there libraries by this "panel" format? Which seems to be by album pretty much.

I currently have mine pretty itunes-esque, as in i have two columns, one with the list of artists and the other of the list of albums- i guess this is because i like it this way, kind of like the ipod, and if im not doing that im searching-- so again, wondering, what makes this panel format so nice? Seems to just be a fancy ordered list of albums-- or are the albums listed under the artist who are alphabetically ordered?

it's really not that great, but because Apple stole it from winamp, everyone thinks they need to use it.
Albumlist and Playlist_Tree are much more effective, IMO.



search and browser can't interact like that, sorry.

shucks. oh well, i'll get used to it.

any way to be able to use both the browser thing i got going (with one column for artists and the other for albums) and also another column that is the "albumlist"-- the one you are talking of above, i've seen it, and would like to give it a try.-- also is albumlist the main source of organiation i see on a lot of these skins?

and one more question, does no one use search of something?- because i don't see that in anybodys skins/configs either..

I just use ctrl+f to bring up a search window.

my ctrl+f bring up a playlist search

It searches the entries in that playlist, not playlists itself.
