Hello all - I've been adding replaygain information to my .ape files in foobar, and have encountered a strange behavior.

My multi-disc albums are tagged with the %discnumber% field. When the replaygain scan is complete, I use the button in the dialog box to update the file tags, and the %discnumber% tags are erased.

Is this an intended behavior? I've searched the forum and haven't found any information. Any help would be appreciated.

It seems to hold the tag if it is strictly a numeric value - in other words, a positive integer with no text. Is foobar really forcing me to use a non standard user defined tag such as %disc title% or something like that if I want the value to be "Disc 1"? What are other people using?

Sorry for asking so many questions, but I've been using foobar since close to the beginning, and I've figured out almost everything I've wanted to do with it by reading the forum and searching the internet. This time, I'm coming up short.


One final note. I've recently been playing with panels ui, and have found it to be a difficult interface to learn to configure. I've read many posts on the forum from people who consider the wiki to be inadequate, and I can't say I disagree. I'm not complaining here, just wondering if anyone has found or put together a good tutorial. I was clueless about how to use columns ui until I read Brother John's tutorial, and I'm hoping for something similar for panels ui.
