Hello. I have some video files of some events and i want to make them with surround sound. The audio is MP3. I use nero 7 to make a dvd with 5.1 ch surround audio. But after the burning the sound is usualy heard only from the front speakers and the center of my dvd player. The rear speakers does not produce any sound. And that doesn`t happen to all the files, although they have the same audio (recorded with the same cam etc.). And the strangest thing is, that on the display of the player (and in the info in nero) it says 5.1ch Dolby Digital.
Does anyone know why is that happening? One file is with proper 5.1 ch audio and the next is not. I just can`t get it. And if noone knows, at least tell me what other program i can use to get the surround sound.
The files are in .avi. Andq I already tried Tmpeg, Besweet, avi2dvd and almost 5 or 6 other programs, but they can`t make the 5.1ch either.
Please help me crying.gif

P.S. Oh, and these days, when I try to do something, there`s another problem: the sound of the dvd made by nero is just awful. I hear some noises, i don`t know how to explain them-it something like the noise you hear when the speaker is not connected well. But this happens again when I listen to the audio on the pc. And only after been made to dvd.

Your audio is 2 channels. You can't simply make 5.1 out of 2. You need to use some upmixing method to get it, and the results won't be that good still.

But I have alreadymade this. I don`t know if it`s a real 5.1ch, but some of the clips produce sound from all the six speakers when I play them on the dvd player. And they all have been transcoded (or encoded, i don`t know) by nero 7. I have problem with only two or three clips.
Can you tell me how to upmix them?
