Hey all,

If you listen to Nine Inch Nails, you are most likely aware of the HALO_ system that is used to name each album. I was wondering if anyone incorporated the [HALO_X] data in the tags, and if so, where do you use them? Did you create a special tag just for NIN albums? Is it part of the album name?

For those who don't know what I am talking about, but still curious about the question, this wikipedia article describes all the HALO's released by the band and perhaps you could give me some advice as I want to organize the band by HALO as well as album name

I put them as part as the album name
e.g. Broken (Halo 05)

The only thing about that is you cant sort by HALO... which I thought would be cool...

I guess the best way to do it is put HALO 05 - Broken?

It's just a numbering system similar to the Köchel-Verzeichnis. Think of it as opus numbers.

All my music gets sorted by year, wouldn't make much of a difference.

yeah I have it by year as well.

is it possible to create a custom tag for just the artist nine inch nails, called HALO?

but that may be useless since id have to include a column called halo in my playlist header, when only one artist has that tag

That's how I have them tagged.

Well thats two hours I wont get back. I put my folders like this (1989) - [Halo_01] - Down in It. A good thing came out of it though I realised I was missing a few songs. Thanks for the reminder and I hope I never have to do that ever again.
