Howdy ... smile.gif

for all my MPEG2 demuxing (either program or transport streams), I always use PVAStrumento from here:
http://offeryn.de/dv.htm#pvas

then for natively cutting the streams, I use MPEG2Schnitt from here:
http://www.mdienert.de/mpeg2schnitt/

and don't worry that those pages are in german, both programs can be configured to run in english

but I have to admit, that I'm not sure about AAC audio streams, all I came across so far were AC3, PCM and MP2 streams being multiplexed into a given stream

thanks a lot for your reply!
i want to demux the audio stream from the MPEG2 TS
and then i will use faad2 to decode it
(the format of audio stream is MPEG4 HE AAC V2)

are there some open source tools to do this demuxing?

dunno, but PVAStrumento and MPEG2Schnitt are both freeware ... smile.gif

Do you maybe have a small sample clip for me to test demuxing ?

So far, my sources varied from DVB satellite streams over recorded DVDs to captured HDV material from various cameras.

What is your source ?

The "raw" AAC data is usually in LATM/LOAS format, faad2 can't decode that. Winamp can.

so, what is the format of the audio stream extracted from the MPEG2 TS?

and which formats can faad2 support?
