I've really like my v.8 "special" version of foobar2000 because the minimalist design opens and plays files instantly. If I want a fancy GUI, there is always itunes.

Am I missing something? I did try v.9 when it came out, but many plugins had not been ported at that time. I've looked around this forum and the net, but I have not found much discussion about the use of v.8 vs v.9.

Specifically, I am looking for the v.8 ac3.dll for Dolby Digital. I really like having one simple player with all my old plugins (flac, DTS, Scheduler, thats it besides the OEM special plugins, which was a very nice gesture by some very kind and thoughtful person) -thanks, rob
