I use b5 because i trust that auymi dude. I doubt I could tell any difference in sound quality though.

I use r1 because its gone through more testing. I don't think b5 has any improvements at the bit rates I use anyway (q6 or q5). But if I needed to use lower bit rates, I'd be using b5.

I use whatever the latest Lancer build supports smile.gif (Which is b5 right?) Fastest and best quality (hopefully).

I use r1 until r2 comes, because I use it for archiving (I'd do it in lossless if I had the needed storage, but that's just not practical for my budget xD).
I switch between q6 for general use, q5 for not so important stuff, and then q7 and q4 for extreme cases of things I care a lot of, and things I might not even care but still want to have in there... for now.

Since it is for archiving, I use the plain x86 builds with no optimizations. I might use optimized for on-the-go encodes (for use on my crappy 256mb player) and streaming, but definitelly not for archiving... I'm a bit paranoid about that, I don't want surprises, because in most cases I get rid of the source material.
