Hi,
I recently bought Echo Indigo IO for my laptop. I was wondering can I use its input to plug my microphone so i could chat on skype, etc? I tried simply plugging it in but nobody can hear me. Also the volume control in winxp default mixer for recording device is not active.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for any help
Best regards

Is there any portable piece of hardware that would allow me to use mic with Indigo IO?

All microphones require a microphone preamplifier. That soundcard, like many others, has none. You must plug the microphone into an appropriate preamp and the preamp output into the soundcard. The microphone preamp should have input gain control, and possibly output level control as well.

There are many hundred's of microphone preamps on the market. Different microphones have somewhat different preamp requirements. Best results come from matching the peices.
