I have some mp3-files, their names and tags are in unicode format. foobar2000 v0.9.4.3 shows wrong duration, bitrate and codec profile for such files.
One of these files (for test purpose only!):
http://www.sendspace.com/file/uqvgeh (2,32 Mb, RAR-packed).
fb2k shows: duration -
8:09.627 (21592559 samples), bitrate -
40 kbps, codec profile -
MP3 CBR.
Real values (taken from Explorer's "File Properties" and from
MediaInfo v0.7.4.7 utility): duration -
2:15, bitrate -
224 kpbs, codec profile -
MP3 VBR.

I managed to fix the file by going: context menu -> Utils -> Edit MP3 Gapless Playback information, checking that the number of samples is sensible and letting it change the file. It's ether the encoder writing wrong gapless info or the mp3 was cutup incorrectly.

Hmm... may be you are right, I fixed it too with Utils. Thanks.

This happens often with badly encoded mp3s, it's why you have options for fixing vbr headers and such.
