When I play a particular CD in foobar v0.9.4.3 the freedb option within the Tagging menu disappears. Why is this? Why can't I search for tags for this CD?
Is it because there are no tags for it in freedb? If so, why can't this be stated, or have a "no results" statement?
The CD is "The Paul Desmond Quartet Live" or "Live" by the Paul Desmond Quartet (Verve reissue 2000); one possible confusion is the 2 titles and performers are identical to the original LP release in 1975 (A&M Horizon); the reissue has an additional track. This CD is not listed in freedb.org under the title above.

foo_freedb2 only tries to retrieve data about a set of tracks after you have selected the "Get Tags From freedb" command, so this has no influence on whether the command is displayed. The only case in which the "Get Tags From freedb" command is unavailable, is when you open the context menu for the currently playing track (some third-party plugins can do that) or when
you run a keyboard shortcut with type "[context / now playing]". The command should always be available for the playlist selection.

Now all CDs I play have no tagging available. When I select all tracks and right-click on them (the first one), and select Tagging, there is no option listed for "Get Tags from freedb". This is the case if the CD is playing or not.
In earlier versions of foobar I always had the option of "Get Tags from freedb".
Please advise.

1) Please make sure you have foo_freedb2 installed.
2) If you have it installed and the command is still not listed in the context menu, please go to the context menu editor in the foobar2000 preferences and add it manually.

It was not installed. I went to
http://foosion.foobar2000.org/0.9/#freedb, and after reading the page downloaded "freedb tagger" to program files/foobar2000/components, and assumed I should extract it to foo_freedb2-0.5.2a-20070125.
Now "Get tags from freedb" is listed in the context menu and I can get the tags as before.
Thank you for your advice.
