At first, thanks for improving of such useful plugin smile.gif

But I noticed, that tags in "Search path" isn't working. Lyrics is being searched in dir like "e:\music\texts\%artist%" but not in "e:\music\texts\trivium" for example. And I think, it would be better to include search path in filename presets with option "Number of subdirs to process" (see Lyrics show Panel).

Yes, it's a bug, I'll fix it in the next release.

Hi T.P Wang,

with your really nice component, I have a small problem. If there is noch LYRICS-Tag found it automatically searches for the lyric in the internet and most of the time finds it. It however seems, that the lyric isn't saved. Neither into the tag, nor to the harddisk, if specified.

Could you please check this?

Thanks

It's because the fb2k shut down before writting LYRICS tag to files. It's fixed in the latest DEV version. HERE
EDIT: The problem still occurs, I may change some method to update files' tag

Thank you for the newest DEV version of your panel T.P Wang! It fixed my lyrics scroll problem because my timestamps were different smile.gif. I am now using your component as my main lyrics display happy.gif.

EDIT:
I spoke to soon lol

I am having a bit of trouble with the lyrics showing up in the incorrect order. It happens with a few of my songs, but I don't notice a pattern or anything. It's an MP3 file, correct header and everything, and the lyrics are timestammped in the file itself (under the %lyrics% tag).

The first few lines of my lyrics are:
CODE
[00:16:62]all you've been asking for has been placed in front of you.
[00:24:13]the headaches, the shaking, the boredom the boardroom brings.
[00:31:81]you're scratching at itching, brought by the spiders beneath your skin.
[00:39:64]the answer in question is over before it begins.

But the lyrics panel shows them as this:
CODE
the headaches, the shaking, the boredom the boardroom brings.
all you've been asking for has been placed in front of you.
the headaches, the shaking, the boredom the boardroom brings.
you're scratching at itching, brought by the spiders beneath your skin.

The lyrics don't scroll for the first 1:30 or so of the song, and then when these lyrics repeat themselves, they do scroll. I can upload the single song if that would help debug this issue?

I've fixed that, try to get the latest DEV version, Thanks again.

It does not work, because you are launching a background tag update while the program is exiting; that implicitly aborts all background processes.

I've add an option like that and fix the titleformating problem in "Search path"
Thanks for the bugfix, tags work fine now.
But option you added is not exactly what I asked. I meant the each "Lyric Filename" preset should include fields like that:
- Name - name of the preset
- Filename - template for the filename
- Directory - template for the directory name, option for subdirectory inclusion
- Maybe also Match Error Level
For example, you will be able to use this presets:
(Name: Filename (Error Level) : Dirname (Subdirs Inclusion))
1. IsAlbum: %track% - %title% (10%) : texts\%artist%\%date% - %album% (0)
2. IsSingle: %title% (30%) : texts\%artist% (0)
3. Other: %title% (50%) : texts (2)
So, search would be more effective.

Find a strange bug - number of subdirs to include can't be saved. It has been always replaced with "0".

As I said before, to save files in Unicode(include UTF8, UTF16 and so on) encoding:
1. You must know the current encoding of the file.
2. You must have the "code page conversaion table" for the encoding installed.

Besides, "ANSI" containes a lot of different encoding (e.g. GB2312, Thai, Shift-JIS, JIS, EUC-JP, BIG5 and so on)
In fact, in many lyrics folder (and the online database), the lyrics file saved as (UTF8, UTF16BE, UTF16LE, GB2312, ISO-8859-15, Shift-JIS, Big5 and so on)
So the big problem is hwo to judge the file encoding... But there's no way to judge(even estimate) that.

One "solution" is popup a message and ask user judge the file encoding EVERY TIME ON LYRICS DOWNLOADED // but it's annoying...
Another "solution" is force the programe to set a encoding like "Shift-JIS" and save it to UTF8 // but when meet a file with different encoding like "EUC-JP", the characters will go garbled...

............headache.

However, I suggest you use Uni2Me to convert various files encoding in one time

Version info:
foobar2000 v0.9.4.4
UNICODE

2. I have 1000 mp3, but I can't do this: ctrl+O,selected them all,click Open. this will do nothing.
I don't know this bug is of foobar2000 or lyrics panel?
T.P Wang
@esunxray:
1. Please give me a screenshot of the TAG window of 14-LaurenChristy-TheColorOfTheNight.mp3

2. Are you sure it's a bug of foo_uie_lyrics? Open 1000 mp3s in one time?

Line padding can't set to 0: it's not a bug. Line Padding is an Integer between 4 - 20.

Lyrics database is hard to add because there is no law among them.(some require xml to post, some is query as HTTP post...)

Great improvement of an already great piece of code, thank you very much! Autoscrolling works fine, I missed that feature so badly, thanx again!

Uh oh .. It keeps forgetting the proxy settings .. If I select 'Use user defined proxy settings', As soon as I click on Save All, it goes back to default empty.
And how about setting the password field showing ****s instead of normal text ..?

Great work btw .. @!

@Shahab Jafri:
I've fixed latest DEV version.
I'll release it tomorrow.

EDIT: You can get the latest DEV version now.

@store88:
You can disable fading effect(That doesn't use gdiplus). It seems that your gdiplus.dll file is corrupt.

Right now no lyrics are retrieved. How can I verify what's wrong?

Now I've no ideas about that, sorry.

The lyrics server is temporarily offline.

Hey, Here is a new idea for you plugin : I have tracks that contains accented character (like Motörhead, which is written Motorhead too often :/). It seems the search engine of the lyrics website does not replace accents with their equivalents.

Is that possible to have such option while searching? eg: searching Motörhead and Motorhead?
