That crash had reported serveral times and I'm confused by that.
Someone use ObjectDock, then result in crash. However, without ObjectDock, it's OK.
Someone cleard all configration...
I have some questions:
1) Which version of ColumnsUI component are you using?
2) After remove foo_uie_lyrics component, then start fb2k, then also remove all references(eg. in ColumnsUI), close fb2k -> place foo_uie_lyrics component ->start fb2k, would it crash?
3) Then add one reference of foo_uie_lyrics (eg. Insert "Lyric Show" Panel in ColumnsUI), would it crash?
Thanks in advance.
Any way, I think I must double check the code now

zouhair should do that:
1. unistall foobar2k
2. reintsll boobar2k
3. copy columnUI
4. copy boo_uie_lyrics
5. start foobar2k
keep the envirement clean first.

How do you add lyrics that weren't found thru the 'Online Search' function? I tried "associate lyric" and it didn't work.
edit: my bad, seems a restart of Foobar does the trick

Right Click on Lyrics Panel after associating the lyric file and then click on Reload Lyrics will do.

Hi I'm new to this forum, this is my first reply.
First of all I'm sorry that I am not patient enough to go through all the 19 pages of this thread, so I may miss the solutions to my problem.
I just want to add my own lyric to the song that has been associated or embed with lyric that had been automatically downloaded. I don't know how to dissociate the unwanted lyric.
What should I do?

0.3.2.3 released:
* Fix a bug that can not specify the background color when transparent is disabled
* Fix a bug that it wouldn't refresh when resizing window
* Change lyric file cap from 10K -> 32K, which help loading larger lyric file
* Add options for fading and shadow offset.
* Fix something on lyric search & download
@Hizack:
You can have a try: Right Click on Lyric Show Panel -> Lyric Associations -> Diable associations

nice new options in the new version.
but would it be possible to also add options to set the radius and the opacity of the shadow?
Thanks for new version!
I discovered a bug: if "Adjust fading height manually" is checked and I exit the preferences window then come back, it gets unchecked.
Also, can you add a scrollbar in the future?
T.P Wang

@radecke:
I'll add an option for soft-shadow later. Thanks.
@Totyo:
Yes, it's a bug, it also occurs in misc->output verbose debugging information..
I'll fix it later.
Though scrollbar is good for scrolling lyric quickly, it is not easy for customizing, besides, Lyric Show Panels prefered synced-lyric rather than plain-text, so I won't consider it for now.

I have a feature request.
For now, we have two choices: automatically downloading lyrics (no click but connexion for each song is not a way to do) OR using an extra window (several clicks + lost time to wait for choices).
Could we have an option in contextual menu which allows to download automatically please ?

Thank you for your help, T.P Wang
But after I dissociate the unwanted lyric and associate a lyric I want, the lyric associated becomes the original unwanted one again.
How could I really remove the original lyric and associate or embed my own lyrics?
Hey! i'm using the lyrics show panel for song info when there aren't any lyric-tags in the file. So i made show me all kinds of file specific info like rg gain and bitrate and stuff like that. Now, i have two slight problems that i can't seem to fix:
1. how can i make it so that comments are always centered, even when they have manual breaks in them (mean: not line break but when i wrote the break into the comment - i.e. lyrics, diff. segments of songs). Because i can set a tag to be displayed centered but when there's a (manual) break within the comment tag "$char(1)C" applies only for the first line of the comment text..
2. most plugins and foobar itself (afaik) look for an entire tag family instead of only one specific tag within a file. For example: %artist% - not only "artist% is been returned, but also "album artist%, %composer%, %band% and so on. Only Problem is, when i set %comments% to be displayed it also returns %COMMENT ITUNNORM% which is itunes' version of ReplayGain and not a comment.. Is there anyway to exclude this particular tag from being displayed?? It really sucks to have a bunch of ugly numbers being displayed that i don't wanna see..
Thanks alot in advance for any answer!

Thanks for this great component. As it is built with the latest SDK, the requirements for your component in the first topic should be adjusted to foobar2000 0.9.5.

No, current now I've only used only one new servie introduced in new SDK:
"Enable field processing in titleformating scripts" now use metadb_display_field_provider service instead of deprecated&removed metadb_display_hook

From the changelog of the new SDK:
QUOTE
Added access to new features introduced in foobar2000 versions 0.9.5, 0.9.5.1 and 0.9.5.2. Version 0.9.5 or newer is now required to load components made with this SDK.
I'm not able to test it at the moment, but if you are using a new service from the new SDK, I wonder how old foobar2000 versions can load lyrics panel. I don't need a deeper technical description here, if it works, it's ok for me.

Hi. Thanks for this great component.
Feature request: Is possible to improve the online search function? Eg. when searching artist with trailing "The" to search without "the", too? I mean if I have a song from "The Beatles" there aren't any results for "Beatles" and vice verse. Also if there is a trailing space, the component won't find any results.
Thanks!
Hi ,very good pugins, but I have a problem, when it auto download from internet and output the *.lyr to my hard drive, the *.lyr 's name is different from the *.mp3.for example the song's name is (01. Candy Shop.mp3) but the lyr's name is (Madonna - Candy Shop.lrc) ,it's different .If I put these together to my MP3 player, it can't play the lyr. thanks.

Hi. I have a question. Does this plugin supports word synchronised lyrics?
There are several formats I think
Minilyrics use the following format:
[00:32.83]<00:32.83>I <00:33.25>reach <00:33.67>for <00:33.95>you ... etc
I tried that and it disn't recognise the words.
Any possibility of implementing such a feature with the highlights through word synchronisation?
Thanks very much!
Good plugins.
thanks for that.
just wondering where does the plugin download from?
Nice plugin. It would be cool though if you could have the lyrics in a separate window that show/hide depending on if lyrics are found.

You can do it with fb2k v0.9.5.3 (with $stripprefix(X) and $swapprefix(X)), and in configruation window of Lyric Show -> Internet, you can find setting for "Titleformatting for search".

No, at least not now, this component now is hard to read and render that format.

You can do it with dockable panels and the %lyric_exists% field.

would you be able to make lyrics fade in/out like in MiniLyrics?
also is there a plan to make a lyrics editor that can be used in conjunction with lyrics show panel?
Yea a .lrc editor that could be used in conjunction with lyrics show panel would be good. Like you have it in the Lyrics Show Panel context menu. And it should be able to take time stamps from foobar so that you can enter the lyrics of the song and then whenever a line starts you hit a button and it automatically adds the correct time stamp.
Although I guess this would belong in a separate thread to request such a component.

A component like this already exists. It is another lyric display. It can be found on this site at the bottom:
http://foo2k.chottu.net/The only reason I still use this component is because of the editor, so if an editor like this were included in Lyrics Show Panel, that'd be amazing

Sorry my Chinese really isn't that strong.
Even if you were Chinese native speaker, it wouldn't help you. It's Japanese. Seriously, altough the side is in Japanese the component itself is in English.
Fine then it's Japanese. Doesn't really make a difference since I can't tell which component is able to do what.
Maybe the
online translation of the Japanese Wiki can help you. It is sometimes very hard to understand, especially when English is not your first language, but it helped me for the other components on that site.

You don't need to understand the website (which is Japanese) since this component is in English anyways. Also, if you can't figure out WHICH component to download, it's the one at the VERY bottom of the page. Here is a direct link:

I have a suggestion to improve that great plugin:
I like a band with a special character in the bandname called "Therapy?". My files of that band are tagged in the same way with a questionmark at the end. Although I know that for the most songs are .lrc files on the server, this panel unfortunately didn't find anything. If I search for "Therapy" without that questionmark the songs are found. What's the point? Minilyrics itself find the songs, never mind if there's a questionmark or not. (On the lyrics - server the bandname is called "Therapy" without special character)
So wouldn't it be possible to improve the search function to simply not read special characters from the file tags?
Hi there...
There's a problem with saving Files to directory...
At the "normal" options page under Preferences -> Tools -> Lyric Show Panels is no option where you can configure how the lyrics are safed as file (*).
You have to right-click on the lyrics panel choosing "Online Search" and under save options there is the field "Safe format"...
So... what you define at the "Safe format" field is what your global safe format is about. This is not very intuitive...

By the way... all my lyrics are stored into .txt-files... but i want to have .lrc-files...
And... I don't wanna use that association manager... it's a good idea... but not everyone wanna use that... why is there no option disabling the assoc-manager?
I have to say... configure this plugin confuses me all the time. There is no consistency... I think a fully rebuild of the option page would solve that problem...
(*) What is the "Lyric file name" field for...? I cannot see any effect by changing values in it... I only got
"Filename : %_filename%.lrc"
in it... but it reads my %_filename%.txt files as well...
Thx,
eNc7
I have a request. Currently when I use Copy Lyrics (without Timestamp) the lyrics are just copied as they are in the .txt or .lrc files. I would like them to copied the way they are displayed in the Panel. So the chorus wouldn't just appear once but would be put wherever it comes.
That would make sharing lyrics online much easier since it's just a c&p job. Right now I have to go to lyrics sites and c&p it from there so that the format is correct.

I think you refer to "Save format", it means
file name(exclude ext.) when the lyric is saved, unless you've chosen "embed to file".
All lyrics will be stored as it be (so when you download a .txt lyric file, it won't be saved as .lrc)
QUOTE

If you ask why, I don't know, because it exists for a long time before I made improvements to this component, I think set lyrics.xml readonly will do that trick though....

I'll say that too, it something like junk, however, refactor require a lot of work(in fact, not the UI is bad design, also source code...), I've e're tried to refactor this component, but failed...

I think you shouldn't append ext. to filename. Lyric show will read filename as lrc first, if failed, then read as .txt.

Strage, I've tested my FLAC(only FLAC tags) files with "LYRICS" and "UNSYNCED LYRICS", doesn't see any problem. Are you using different frame to store LYRIC? And did add "FLAC" to your "skip read / write tag files by filetype" setting? And check your filenames, do they match the critera in "Filter" of Lyric Show configruation (by deafault, you see, skip files which matched Track*;CDImage.*;Unknown*)?

Well, if you are sure that the .lrc file is deleted and you still see the lyrics - I would guess that the lyrics may be in multiple locations. Confirm that there is not a track.txt file around that might be getting picked up by foobar as the lyric file or you might want to check the properties of the track in question and see if you have a "lyrics" field with data.
