my 710 has been awesome...but i'm not all that happy with the line in recording quality...so i'm looking for a good soundcard (under $100) that has good line in recording (from tapes or vinyls) and has good stereo playback (regular 2.0 or 2.1 and headphones) i was looking at M-Audio Audiophile 2496, how is the recording quality on that card? any other suggestions? the interface can be either pci or pci express...i dont think i want usb card tongue.gif

I use the M-Audio Audiophile 2496 to record. I like it and it serves me very well. I like to think I have decent ears too.

The Audiophile 2496 is quite possibly the best one can buy for under $100. It's recording quality is certainly superior to anything you can get off phonograph records or cassettes.
